Konshens & Busy Signal x Soca People

So normally, just a collab between the two of these artosts would be enough to get us hype but cropover with tinges on road version and EDM soca makes it even better. Both guys can work well over the midtempo stuff and this is them knocking it out the park.

Strictly Riddims No 16 Mixed by Bacchanal Ronin

strictly riddims4

With this series we hope to increase appreciation for dancehall riddims and instrumentals as we feel that in dancehall the productions and producers don’t often get the props they deserve.

Once again we reach out to Manchester and Bacchanal Ronin provides us with a mix that darts around dancehall, soca and SA house. Sit back listen and bust a skank.

Spanning the full Oh Bacchanal! spectrum; bashment, R&B, hip hop, soca, afropop, afro house and tarraxinha; the point of the mix is how much fun it is to weld all these styles together. Overall, the mix feels tactile with an emphasis on melody. I favoured riddims with novel sounds and samples that make them seem complete and charaterful without a voice… although, feel free to add your own vocals if the urge takes you.

Strictly Riddims No 16 Mixed by Bacchanal Ronin by Hipsters Dont Dance on Mixcloud

Natahlee x Bacchanal Zombies

We have talked about the ingenuity of soca stars, they have a limited choice of subject matter but still managed to bang out great and lyrically great songs. Ive joked about ti but the first female younger in my family is getting Roll it Gyal and it’s lyrics as a 14 year birthday present. Natahlee on the other hand takes the subject matter of the moment zombies and highlights it’s similarities with carnival. It’s pretty smart and incredibly danceable.
