We fell in love with this song (and the original) when we were in Lagos over Christmas. Skales and Burna Boy really embracing the Nigerian pop sound on this one. Looking forward to hearing what 2017 has in store for both of them.

Wizzypro x Emergency (Feat. Runtown, Skales, Patoranking)
We missed this one when it first came out, but producer Wizzypro pulls together a good group of singers on this song. The highlight is Patoranking who nails it. This might be my favourite verse of the year. You do have to get through some sub Wale type stuff before. If you haven’t heard Alubarika yet i suggest you do.

Skales x Muluku
Every so often i get a bit nostalgic about those nokia’s mobile phones of the late 90’s. The ones with the facias, the intoxicating game snake and those ringtones. Speaking of those ringtones Skales’ Muluk incorporates it in this Naija pop jam. It’s a shame it is released in 2012 as it would have been the perfect song on my phone back in secondary school. It may be the first time i have seen an Obey hat in a Naija pop video.
