#HDD Hangover 2 : Illanja
We have all been there flagging after a long night out, the pounding headache, the fear of natural light and the craving on any food to soak up last night’s hangover.
We at HDD have a phrase for those suffering after a night out at Hipsters Dont Dance (1st Saturday of every month) it’s called a #hddhangover. So as a thank you to our amazing crowd we have decided to create a mix series to ease you back into the real world.
The second mix in the series is mixed by Illanja (sometimes known as Johnny Klash) and mixes in some ska, rub-a-dub and reggae. It’s better than Alkaseltzer.

New dance x Space Bwoy
Even though i’ve been doing the ricky bobby at raves recently, it doesn’t hurt to have a new dance move introduced once in a while. Obviously we love to dance at HDD, it’s the ethos of the night, here Chekkazz introduces the Space Bwoy. It may seem hard to get down at first but it seems manageable and adaptable to any song. The music that they chose is sort of a modern update of ska but you could probably do this move to an old school funk track.

Ansiktet – X (Cocotaxi Remix)
Speaking of post carnival blues, sometimes you just need something warm and shimmery to help with the comedown. This ska remix of Ansiket by Cocotaxi is perfect for that. I cant give you much more information but just put it on and think back to the clear 2 days of West London madness and this song with instantly add a wonderful hipstmatic glow to it all. Even that part when you eat dodgy stew chicken or got bumped into by 500 different people in 5 minutes.
