Ester Dean x How You Love It (Feat. Missy Elliott)

Ester+Dean+DROP+IT
This really should be called Cake Part 2, but the alter ego of Rihanna (aka the woman behind most of her hits) finally gets the hit that she deserves. It really must have been frustrating to write all those hits and be unable to create that magic by herself. This should be big, it even features a return to form Missy verse. Benny Blanco and Stargate on the production as if you couldn’t tell.

Rihanna x Diamons (Jr Blender Reggae Remix)

rihanna diamonds jr blender reggae remix

We are huge fans of Jr Blender’s reggae remixes here at HDD HQ and his latest addition is a remix of Rihanna’s Diamonds just in time for Christmas.  Jr Blender’s refix brings Diamonds a little closer to Rihanna’s Caribbean roots while keeping the vibe of the Sia-penned original. You can also check out his edit of Ri Ri’s No Love Allowed here.

HDD Style ICON #3 Rihanna

As carnival approaches, we thought Rihanna would be a fitting style icon. She was seen earlier this month in a carnival costume in Barbados  and was spotted last month sporting a string vest as a beach dress. Hootie Who @ HHK

So the lovely guys at HHK introduced me to Droop- E’s I’m Loaded and it’s become one of my favourite songs. The Sade sample, the bridges, the time and place that the lyrics evoke, E-40’s extra double time patter. So i had to do it at Hip Hop Kareoke. If you have never been i really do suggest that you go. It’s weekly, every Thursday at the Social on Little Portland Street. You will have a hard time trying to find a nicer crowd and atmosphere for anything else in the capital. The place is filled with music lovers who will often help performers sing their way through even the most difficult of tracks.

Blackgold Rihanna vs Vybz Dance

Dance crew Blackgold killing it again. I suggest that you could follow The Large’s advice and learn this in time for friday.

Taste of the Night Mix

We thought that since the night has evolved from a smoky basement bar to the fun space that is upstairs at the Camp we should record a mix that reflected that.
Recorded live in 1 take whilst both of us were heavily medicated with flu pills the mix has a few rough edges… thanks dusty needles. It is the closest representation to what the night is playing the best in hip hop, dancehall and tropical.
Also look out for tracks from our March guests Ulysses 82 and Murlo……
