Nelson will remain one of those artists that you will continually check to see what he has come up with. This Lp might not be as good as the last but this is a guy not only duelling with being a pop star but a multilingual one as well. Ride or Die is his best writing in English and the simple Kizomba pattern is vibes still.

Yemi Alade x Johnny
Yemi Alade is definitely one of our faves at HDD, her posse cut Wanting gets played a lot at our raves. This time she takes centre stage herself with this new video directed by Naija Hype Williams Clarence Peters. Taking on a Cheaters theme this light hearted video is quite good. The song is part indigenous female empowerment anthem. “Do you know Johnny?”

Ashanti x First Real Love (Feat. Beenie Man)
So the song that we got a snippet of about a month ago is finally out. And its 3/4 of a good song, there is a Major Lazer/Dutch House lingering affect in the chorus. Also it’s Ashanti’s song but has 3 Beenie Man verses so let’s go ahead and call it his song. He nails it, in a way that a man who knows how to maximise his potential mainstream hits.
