Legendary UK producer and DJ Curtis Lynch has worked with some of the biggest names in music, from Gorillaz to Alicia Keys to Etana. Earlier this year he worked on the bashment remix of Jessie J’s Do It Like a Dude (featuring Lady Chann) which Jessie often uses during her live shows. His Necessary Mayhem label has consistently put out some of the best riddims in the UK over the past 5 years with such homegrown talent as Tippa Irie, Stush and Mr Williamz adding their vocals, Dancehall Style Riddim (which features Mr Williamz) is a HDD favourite. Curtis will be joined by Mr Williamz on the mic at Dancehall Jamboree on Saturday. Mr Williamz is one of the biggest reggae stars in the UK. Having toured Central America, being named Artiste of the year by the BBC and having number 1 singles in the United States and Japan, Mr Williamz is a seasoned performer and should not be missed.
Here are three of our favourite Curtis Lynch Remixes
Amy Winehouse – Stronger Than Me (Curtis Lynch Remix)
Not many people can add to Amy’s vocals but this remix is the perfect accompaniment, verse by Blackout Ja.
(Sorry for the poor quality this was the only youtube available)
Alicia Keys – No One (Curtis Lynch Reggae Remix)
Curtis’ superb reggae remix of Alicia’s hit No One gives the original a new found flavour.
Curtis Lynch, Kele Le Roc & Red Rat – Thinking of You
Curtis works his magic on this remake/remix of Sister Sledge’s Thinking of You, and is joined by Kele Le Roc and Red Rat on the vocals.
