Kes The Band x Just Wanna Jam

The soca 2015 tunes are starting to roll out and we are definitely not mad at that. We are loving Kes The Band’s latest groovy offering ‘Just Wanna Jam’. It’s always soca season at HDD HQ and we are looking forward to what soca has to offer for 2015.

Kes The Band x Endless Summer

Taken from the excellent Ricky Blaze Uptown Julie riddim (seriously is great), the incredible slice of pop goodness gets a video by the great Jonathan Mannion. Seriously this is the man who although known for his hip hop portraits uses his love and passion for Trinidad Carnival to create something special. Don’t believe me? Check out what he did for Trinidad James.

Back to this one, its not my fave off the riddim but Kes nails all the “i’m a pop star” bits so well. The addition of a New York roof top with Jillionaire (in his words) fake djing, carnival dancers and New York looking great make a great video.

Denise Belfon x Chuku Chuku

Wining Queen Denise Belfon has dropped a soca smasher for T&T carnival which is an interpolation of Flavour’s Ashowa Remix. We are big fans of this Flavour tune and we love when musical worlds meet so we were excited to hear Denise give this Afro pop classic a soca spin. You can also listen to Kes the Band’s cut on the riddim here. The riddim will be available soon on J-Rod Records.

Single Barrel Riddim x Medley Video

As we mentioned earlier medley videos are a sure way to get a guaranteed post on this site, they are few and far between in dancehall but even more rare in soca! Precision Productions are behind some of the biggest and best soca tunes and riddims around (antilles, redbull, mr fete) and we definitely approve of them branching out with the medley video for Single Barrell Riddim featuring Blaxx, Destra, Kes The Band and more.

Kes The Band x Tuesday on the Rocks

Tuesday On The Rocks is by far one of the stand out tunes from Kes The Band this Soca Season – other HDD favourites from Kes this season being I OK on False Teeth Riddim and Ah Come For Dat . We think Kes The Band are strongest when on a groovy, laid back vibe and reggae-influenced Tuesday On The Rocks is certainly the perfect tune for liming.

Kes x Wotless (Dubbel Dutch Remix)

Dubbel Dutch wotless

What do you do on your birthday? Eat cake, drink lots, find a woman with a large arse? In the case of Dubbel Dutch you release an incredible remix of Wotless, i want to say that we first heard this when he played at the Big Chill bar ages ago but i may be wrong. Either way it’s great.

PS Samo Sound Boy writing about Dubbel Dutch is amazing and so on point.
