Last week Hootie Who was a guest on Style and Swagger and did a 30mins African Dancehall influenced set (You can hear that soon). Most of the music came from West Africa and in particular from lady Kaakie. She comes from Ghana and is rapidly gaining a higher profile thanks to a string of bangers mostly produced by JMJ. On the above performance she preforms To Much and Toffee Pon Toungue. Toffee might be familiar because it’s direct cousin is Overproof riddim (Mavado’s Settle Down, Beenie Man Let’s Go and Daniel Beddingfield’s Sometimes You Just Know) none the less she smacks it. I urge you to check out the studio version and hear how she rides that beat.
