We are back at the Shacklewell Arms this Saturday and are joined by our good friends Tomb Crew and Illaman (both of whom were great when we had them last year) on the night. After the success of our debut event at the Lockside Lounge, Hipsters Dont Dance On A Ragga Tip is back for another night of World Carnival fun. This time we are joined by producer and HDD favourite Famous Eno. Fresh from his storming set on London’s important Just Jam, Famous Eno will be bringing us his take on Grime, Bashment and more.  Of course we will have our Residents Murlo, The Large, Illanja and Kazabon & Hootie Who on the decks bringing you the best in Hip Hop, Tropical and Dancehall. Don’t forget our motto is Fete Hard or Go Home! Get ready to wuk and wine by pumping our latest mix (below) through your speakers.

Hipsters Dont Dance x April

HDD finally has a new home out east; The Shacklewell Arms. It made sense really, the venue is perfect for our World Carnival Sound with it’s Caribbean beach inspired decor, space to dance and great outdoor garden to cool off after some vigorous dancing.
We start a monthly residency at the venue in Dalston in June but before that we bring you a one off Residents special. Residents The Large, Illanja, Kazabon and Hootie Who will offer you a taste of what’s to come. Expect Hip Hop, Dancehall and Tropical music on the night, Basically the experience of carnival in one night. Make sure you don’t miss out on it, grab someone close to you and whine.

The Bogle, Dutty Whine and Row Di Boat are not only encouraged but guaranteed.

We put out the first 20 mins of our set at Tipsy from earlier in the month on our mixcloud, we would have had more but we ran out of space on the SD card (rookie mistake).It is exactly what you can expect from us; incredible World Carnival music. QQ x Ghetto Gyal


In the next couple of weeks we will be all posting the video of Vicious’ jam Freaks as French Montana (Africa’s number one rapper) and America’s sweetheart Nicki Minaj have teamed for a new song with Freaks as the sample. I thought it would be a good time to check up on another child dancehall star, this time QQ of the infamous Stukie (not this Stooki). He has a new track dedicated to the Ghetto Gyals and it’s pretty good.
