Hipsters Don’t Dance x August

HDD_AUG14_2WEB

We are back at The Shacklewell Arms this Saturday August 2nd. You can find us in the back room aka the dancehall recreating the feeling of Carnival in the middle of Dalston. On the night we will have resident Murlo alongside HDD head honchos Kazabon & Hootie Who.

Imagine the house party in Sean Paul’s Get Busy but without the complaining Grandpa. Rum, batty riders, flags and more in our own World Carnival dance. We are on the road to carnival, you don’t want to miss out! Fete hard or go home!!! More info here.

Hipsters Don’t Dance x December

HDD_4TH_BDAY_WEB

For our December session at The Shacklewell Arms we are going to be celebrating our 4th birthday. It’s amazing to think that we made it this far. We have been incredibly lucky to have you guys support us as we try and put on one of the best parties in London. Celebrating that World Carnival sound the right way., this is definitely an event you do not want to miss. People were talking about our 3rd birthday for weeks so expect the same type of madness, you will not want to miss out.

Poirier (Mixpax/ Ninja Tune)
Coming to us all the way from Canada, Poirier is definitely someone we admire. A true pioneer whose production work is fantastic, whether it’s his Running High Lp, the fantastic Soca Road Ep on Mixpak or any other of his amazing work.

Serocee (BBC Radio 1/ Jambrum Records)
Serocee is family. We have to have him play at HDD at least once a year and this year it was only right we have him play in december. That way we could celebrate both our Birthdays at the same time. Serocee is guaranteed to bring the fun, looking back at his past sets they have always been incredibly memorable.

It wouldn’t be a HDD party without the residents Murlo, Illanja, Kazabon & Hootie Who who will bring you the best in the World Carnival Sound. Whine and Kotch, Bruk It Down, Azonto are all songs/dances that are not only encouraged but guaranteed. So come on down to the Shacklewell and get lost in this carnival fun.

The Bogle, Dutty Whine and Row Di Boat are not only encouraged but guaranteed.
Fête Hard or Go Home!

£5 before 12am / £7 after

You can find the event here.

Hipsters Dont Dance House Party

HDD HouseParty Dec_A6

After our 3rd Birthday celebrations, which were amazing thanks for asking, we are proud to announce the creation of a new HDD night. It’s HDD House Party, named after our fan favourite mix series. Once a month we will be bringing you the best house party without the hassle of clearing up. Come on down to The Libertine to listen to a soundtrack of party starters to get you in the mood for clubbing. Hits from Hip Hop, Dancehall and R and B will get your Saturday night kicked off correctly. We have teamed up with the Libertine Pub in Borough to bring you this brand new experience the third Saturday of every month.

This month is a special Christmas themed edition, so for all of you who dread the office party but want to experience the Christmas Cheer this is for you. Why bother with the 12 pubs of Christmas when this will be the only pub you want to be in.
Kazabon and Hootie Who will be Djing on the night but there might be some special guests rolling though, so look out for them!

The facebook event is here.

PS Look out for our flyers, if you bring one on the night you’ll get a free Xmas spirit.

HDD at Limited Edition Fri 16th Dec

This Friday 16th HDD DJs Kazabon and Hootie Who will be joining the FITH (Fire In The Hole) crew at their new night Limited Edition at XoYo. We are on the bill with some of London’s biggest party starters; Kool Kids Klub’s Whole Sick, Off Modern‘s Mangno and Resonance’s Mitee. More info over on the Facebook event page.

Bad Taste Records

This saturday the northerners who run Bad Taste records are coming to The Camp and putting on a rave. And boy have they put on a line up.
Checan B2B Squarehead
Walter Ego B2B Darkstorm (Bad Taste)
TOYC B2B Timbah (Mimm Recordings)
Wifey LDN DJ’s
Mops (Suckerpunch)
It’s free entry so make sure you check it out.
I’ll leave you with the video of Difference, totally forgot to mention that the EP is out now.

Calm Down

On Friday it’s the return of Calm Down at the Junction Rooms. It’s a night run by the lovely Blackfoot Phoenix (Skinny Macho, Truce and Rivah) and the line up is pretty crazy. Not only will Blackfoot Phoenix be playing but also Bell and Kisame. Then there are two past HDD guests Lukey ( who’s currently tearing it up all around shoreditch recently) and LTF (Wifey) who’s one of my favourite dj’s in london. Another reason to be excited is that LTF has been playing bits of Homework recently which is amazing because im fairly sure no one gets to hear early Daft Punk in clubs anymore.

All this is free from 9pm -2am. The facebook event page is here.
