It’s that time again; we are back at The Libertine Pub in Borough this Saturday March 16th for more warm up vibes. Come and join us for the best house party in a pub in the whole of London. Kazabon & Hootie Who will be providing you with a soundtrack of party starters to get you in the mood for clubbing. Hits from Hip Hop, Dancehall and R’n’B will get your Saturday night kicked off correctly whether you are catching up with friends over pizza and drinks or getting ready for a night of raving and misbehaving! Check the facebook event page for more details.
You can also listen to a taster of what HDD House Party is like with this 2 hour recording of our set from last month. Put it on at work and have a sly little dance to this.
Our excellent columnists, So Shifty decided to be the biggest give gift givers since Santa Claus back in 1992 (hold tight that game boy). They are giving away 40 tracks they had a hand in creating, from dancehall to soca to hip hop to house. So many great tunes that have worked on dancefloors across the world. We fully expect 2013 to be an even better year for the guys, so if you are missing out get downloading and catch up. Free Stuff by So Shifty
On March 3rd we are back at C.A.M.P. for our monthly residency. This time we are joined by one of the leading lights of Tropical bass music Warrior One. We were lucky to have Warrior One christen our first ever event at the C.A.M.P. back in September 2010. Since then he has gone on to release records labels such as Black Butter, King Pigeon and Mixpak and work with the likes of Serocee, Lady Chann and Durrty Goodz. His latest track Fyah featuring Ayah (which you can listen to below). We are very lucky to have him joining us and can’t wait for his storming set.
Also on the night we will have residents Murlo (Pollinate/ Mixpak), The Large (Shimmy Shimmy) and HDD DJ’s Kazabon & Hootie Who bringing you those winter carnival vibes. So expect soca, azonto, naija pop, SA house alongside the usual hip hop, tropical and dancehall.
Wow, one of the biggest names in grime and bassline is giving away a 11 track ep. It’s a varied Ep full of stuff that is reminiscent of his other work but more excitingly there is stuff that wouldn’t be out of place on a Oneman dj set. certain tracks sounds like Either Lunice, Clams Casino or Araabmuzik could have done them. The highlight remains skipping rope though because it’s the beat for one of the most interesting tracks of this year Trim’s I AM (out now). I would highly suggest getting this EP and adding bits of it to your sets as it is a corker.
Earlier this year i tweeted that this might be the summer where Blu Cantrell might be making a comeback, well i was wrong. then main reason why i thought this was the case was thanks to this fun dark booty bass remix by Tomb Crew and Wholesick. Make sure you can either of these guys live as they are both amazing.
