London based producer Maleek Berry drops the soundtrack for something called Gidi Culture festival. Needless to say it’s great as his previous work has shown. The frequent Wizkid collaborator created something that truly reminds us of funky but but retaining it’s African flavour. As for this Gidi Culture festival, it’s a festival being put on by my brother and his friends in order to promote local home grown talent. It’s coming out in March and has a ton of Afropop stars that will be a part of it. Look out for more from that coming soon from them and us down the line. You can Dl it here, the video above is Maleek being interviewed.
Someone went ahead and uploaded Miguel’s performance at the Itunes festival late last month. We have been very much pro Miguel on this blog but have never seen him perform , this video shows that he can, sadly this crowd couldn’t give a monkeys. The highlight being the live version of Adorn which kicks off around the 46 minute mark. The audio is great but it’s worth a watch.
Every week the excellent So Shifty guys will bring you a performance that they deem #unf*ckwithable. You can give them suggestions on twitter just using that hashtag but ultimately they will decide. This week’s edition is from Destra and soca cover song of Take On Me with Razorsharp on the remix.
