HDD at RBMA x Mangrove

This year RBMA are back at Notting Hill Carnival and are linking up with one of the best local mas bands Mangrove to bring one big bad truck to this year’s parade route. We are honoured to be part of this lineup alongside  Soca royalty Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons and Olatunji, last year’s Thre3style champion DJ Puffy and some of London’s best selectors; The Heatwave and Jus Now. Serocee will be hosting with PAs from Mangrove artists Jo Money, Sunshine & Nadiva, Soca Jonny, Joni Rich and Survival #1.

Watch out for the truck on the parade route or if you want to play ah mas with Mangrove on the day get your t-shirts and costumes here.

Stadic x She Bad Project

Stadic is the producer behind some of last year’s big tunes including Fay Ann’s Raze and Town Thing Riddm. In true world carnival style his new project sees soca and dancehall artists working together in a genre they are calling “afro soca”. Mavado and Fay Ann’s offering has some great elements but our favourite of the two cuts on this project has to be She Bad by Suit of Black which sees Assasin, Bunji Garlin and Kardinal Offishal working together and smashing it. Mr One Hundred x Palm Tree Destruction

MIX046 Cover Art

The latest EP to drop on Mixpak is one from Mr One Hundred and it brings soca to a whole new level. The EP features samples from soca dream team Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons and sounds a little bit like if DJ Funk went to T&T for carnival. Get wukking and wining! You can stream the tunes below or buy it here. Get ready to wuk and wine!

Shane Talon x T&T Roadmarch Mix

T&T Independence

Last Friday Trinidad and Tobago celebrated 50 years of Independence. In celebration of the occasion Atlanta based dj Shane Talon put together this mix of the roadmarch tunes of the last 50 years. Roadmarch tunes are the tunes played most during carnival celebrations. This mix is a must for all soca fans and is not to be slept on – it’s a soca history lesson! Tracklist and download link here.
