Dom Kennedy x Still Callin (Feat. TeeFlii)

One of the standouts of Dom’s latest lp Get Home Safely gets the visuals it deserves. The west coast revival is coming and this is something that truly captures the vibe coming out from a lot of these artists. Whilst New York bickers with itself, the west key players all flit in and around each others projects .TeeFlii even brings his “Annie” fictional character to this song. The video itself is similar to a lot of Dom’s recent ones, party vibe everyone having fun and not much more. It really does let the music speak for itself which is smart. My hope for the coming year is that Paranoid blows up, Left Right blows up, Up Down blows up and this leads to a new Teeflii x Dj Mustard song blowing up. Followed by Eric Bellinger then a Sade x DJ Mustard track.

Niko G4 x Shoppin’ (Feat. Dom Kennedy & 305)

Some more of that new west coast hip hop from the OPM crew. This song doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it is something that you can just ride along to. With the familiar sample and those 808’s it will be a an earworm. Taken from Niko’s latest mixtape expect this one to get some plays at HDD HQ.

Bonic x Cheerios (Feat. Dom Kennedy)

Now this is a surprise, Bonic of Philly’s Most Wanted fame teams up with Dom Kennedy for this collab. It’s sounds like an updated Philly’s Most wanted which is wicked. Legacy acts doing updated versions of what they are known for. That’s the ticket.

Dom Kennedy x My Type of Party Remix (Feat. Tyga & Juicy J)

Dom Kennedy enlists the man of the moment (Juicy J) and Tyga for the remix of one of the best songs of the summer. It also features a new verse from Dom kicking it on a chill out flow vibe. This single is the lead single (listen to it here) off the new OPM project which you can download here.

Dom Kennedy X My Type of Party Decoded

Dom Kennedy recently sat down with Jay Z’s website Life and Times to chat about the lyrics to his summer anthem My Type of Party. He talks about wanting to make a song that was a party vibe without being overly hype. To be honest there is so much of that missing and this song as well as the Yellow Lp filled that void this summer.
