NICS Issue 3 Launch Party March 1st

The third issue of our favourite zine No Ice Cream Sound is on its way and we are honoured to be djing at the launch party on March 1st at Ridley Road Market Bar. Also on the line up are HDD favourites Smutlee, Clubb Rock, Why Delila and The Large, so its sure to be one hell of a party!
This issue features exclusive interviews with Popcaan, Stylo G, Mungo’s Hi-fi, and Young Warrior, A day in the life of Curtis Lynch, a chart from Poirier, an illustrated doubles recipes from ourselves (Kazabon & Hootie Who) and much more. Style & Swagger at Physically Fit February 2nd

Style and Swagger (aka Kazabon, The Large and Why Delila) will be spinning at Physically Fit tomorrow night at The Big Chill Bar just off Brick Lane. Also on the lineup is Curtis Lynch legendery producer and the man behind the Necessary Mayhem label whose sampler album Future Cuts is dropping on February 7th. The album features an array of artists including Million Stylez, Mr Williamz, and Busy Signal with Curtis on the buttons. In addition to Curtis and Style and Swagger, Extra Stout’s Jamie Rodigan will also be stepping up to bring you some sweet selections.

Dancehall Jamboree Curtis Lynch & Mr Williamz

Legendary UK producer and DJ Curtis Lynch has worked with some of the biggest names in music, from Gorillaz to Alicia Keys to Etana. Earlier this year he worked on the bashment remix of Jessie J’s Do It Like a Dude (featuring Lady Chann) which Jessie often uses during her live shows. His Necessary Mayhem label has consistently put out some of the best riddims in the UK over the past 5 years with such homegrown talent as Tippa Irie, Stush and Mr Williamz adding their vocals, Dancehall Style Riddim (which features Mr Williamz) is a HDD favourite. Curtis will be joined by Mr Williamz on the mic at Dancehall Jamboree on Saturday. Mr Williamz is one of the biggest reggae stars in the UK. Having toured Central America, being named Artiste of the year by the BBC and having number 1 singles in the United States and Japan, Mr Williamz is a seasoned performer and should not be missed.

To celebrate the flyer for Dancehall Jamboree being released Murlo laced us with his remix of the Stylo G banger Call Mi a Yardie. Not only can you see Murlo on the 26th of November, you can also catch Jillionaire, Curtis Lynch and Mr Williamz, Serocee, Wrongtom Meets Deemas J, Joe Grime and Fresharda. Thats all in room 1, whilst in room 2 you have HDD residents Why Delila, The Large, Illanja and Kazabon & Hootie Who (HDD Dj’s). It’s going to be massive and definitely something you don’t want to miss as it is a mixture of the scene’s legends, leaders and up and comers.
