Mainly posting this because of Beenie’s scally uniform in the video which he then wore in the club as you can see in these pictures from Kingston Style. Right now we are more used to hearing Sean Paul with whatever identikit pop star/group so it’s nice to hear him on some dancehall.
The only way to pretty much guarantee a post on this site is a medley video and finally after a couple of months we have one. This time it’s for last year’s Overtime riddim. Gyptian, Mavado, Christopher Martin, Popcaan, Beenie Man and more. It may be Island pop is but the video is fantastic, even if it is just a smooth blend of all the artist’s individual ones.
We love a good riddim medley video here at HDD HQ nearly as much as we love some of the faces that Beenie Man pulls in this video. Hustlas riddim has been around for a few weeks and the three cuts on the riddim from Lisa Hyper, Kantana and Beenie Man, and Jah Vinci are all strong. We especially like Jah Vinci’s Weezy impression.
The video for Beenie Man’s Hot Like Fire dropped last week and it is a visual treat! Its the second video to be released from the Loudspeaker Riddim package and like Popcaan’s The System video it was shot in Jamaica by Dayo. Check out some of our favourite video stills over on the HDD tumblr.
We are big fans of Dre Skull at HDD HQ and could barely contain our excitement when we heard that Mixpak was due to release a brand new riddim from him featuring some of our favourite artists on vocals. The riddim has hints of groovy soca mixed with that special Dre Skull sound and features dancehall artists Beenie Man, Natalie Storm, and Popcaan alongside Soca’s biggest artist Machel Montano. The riddim will be available from Mixpak on May 22nd, and you will definitely hear us playing some of the cuts at our events this summer.
