Over the past few years in dancehall we have seen the evolution of certain stars. Cham may have dropped the baby a while ago but he is now a fully fledged star. QQ removed those child star constraints to become a slackness don. RDX came back from the wilderness to teach us all how to Kotch. This month at HDD we continue the theme of evolution as HDD resident The Large prepares to jet off to NY.
The Large first played at HDD back in October 2010 and later became one of our residents, any of you that have been to our parties know that she always mashes up the dance! Like a lot of great talents, the bright lights of NYC came calling and she answered. This isn’t going to be her last time at HDD, as she will always be a member of the family but you don’t want to miss out on this set as it will be a special one.
Also on the night Murlo, Illanja, Kazabon and Hootie Who will be bringing you that HDD Carnival sound. Whine and Kotch, Bruk It Down, Azonto are all songs/dances that are not only encouraged but guaranteed. So come on down to the Shacklewell this Saturday and get lost in this carnival fun. To make things even more tropical The Shacklewell are offering two cocktails for £8 for HDD Happy Hour between 11pm and 1am. More details and directions on our Facebook event page.
