HDD Highlights : HDD World Carnival Video

If you missed our World Carnival party a few weeks ago you missed one hell of a night! We were joined by Dre Skull, So Shifty, Dub Boy, Atki2, The Large, Murlo and special guests Schlachthofbronx at Visions Video Bar in Dalston for our first ever carnival party. The video shot by Anthony Olagun and soundtracked by Dre Skull’s Kling Klang riddim makes us want to do it all over again!

Hipsters Dont Dance World Carnival

HDD World Carnival

On the 25th of August we will be throwing a party that has been 3 years in the making. During those years we have brought the sound of World Carnival to the clubs of the UK, a sound that is distinctly familiar but not recognized and under represented in the UK clubbing scene. We wanted to recreate the feeling of walking around not only Notting Hill Carnival but other Carnivals across the world. This year we get to do this during the August Bank Holiday at an amazing and intimate venue in East London with some of our favourite DJ’s and Producers around. Dre Skull whose production is almost always heard at our raves is headlining. Fresh off his work with the likes of Major Lazer, Snoop Lion in addition to his own riddims. So Shifty also join us, the German tropical dons (who are also our columnists) whose recent Rumba EP is amazing. Dubboy and ATKI2 who have been running all things tropical and bassy in Bristol for years now. Of course it wouldn’t be the same without some of the HDD Fam. Murlo has been a resident for a year and a bit and is someone production and taste mirrored ours from the get go. The Large has been there from the start and has always held us down especially on the dancehall end of things. These are all people that in one way or another have helped shape the HDD sound and we are so overjoyed to be able to throw a carnival party with all of them. Also we will be having surprises on the night itself so make sure you look out for them. We wouldn’t have been able to throw this party without the support of all of you who have come and skanked at previous HDD raves, so once again Thank You!
