From our short time in SA, we realised that we are entirely ignorant of the diversity of the SA house scene. Gqom is akin to bassline/niche in the sense that it is from one region. And it’s genesis comes from the raves there and the people. This may seem really basic but the vastness of SA means that the music feels like it truly is from this specific moment in time.
