One of my favourite groups in the world and the group that got me into hip was Gangstarr. Guru’s rhymes and Dj Premier’s cuts and their love of jazz samples was the perfect combo. This song by Remy Banks has that native toungues/92 hip hop feel. It’s gorgeous, lushful jazz samples, some Souls of Mischief -esque rhymes and an overall laidback groove that i can’t help but kick back to.
That’s how the music makes me feel, but the guys themselves are wicked and i really like their stuff, especially Marz Lovejoy spitting over Wiz Khalifa’s Up.
Where’s the red stripe?
