Hootie Who x Commuter Mix

Hootie Who is back with the latest #hddhangover mix. This mix is a little different than the rest of the series in the sense that you aren’t meant to listen to it hungover instead this is meant for those long London commutes. It also doubles up on music from artists like Chase N Cashe, Future, Kil Kish, Miguel, Jeremih, Dom Kennedy and many others.

Here are a few words from her:

When I’m hungover I need something soothing to listen to, so for this hangover mix I chose tracks from singers with smooth soothing voices – Miguel, Pharrell, Jhene Aiko, Jesse Ware and Sade.

#HDD Hangover 7 : Hootie Who

We at HDD have a phrase for those suffering after a night out at Hipsters Dont Dance it’s called a #hddhangover. So as a thank you to our amazing crowd we have decided to create a mix series to ease you back into the real world. The seventh mix in the series goes for a mostly instrumental vibe, it’s the second mix in this series by HDD resident Hootie Who. One thing’s for sure it’s better than Alkaseltzer!

Here are a few words from him:

For my second mix in this series i wanted to try and take it somewhere different. Everyone in the series took this idea and added a new element so I came back to the series thinking differently than when i started it 6 months ago. For me as a DJ i can see the power of music especially in melodies and felt that a mostly instrumental mix would highlight some of my recent favourites. Of course I had to put my all time fave in there as well. I’ll let you guess which one it is (hint its the one with the 3 cuts on this mix).

#HDD Hangover 6 : Murlo

We at HDD have a phrase for those suffering after a night out at Hipsters Dont Dance it’s called a #hddhangover. So as a thank you to our amazing crowd we have decided to create a mix series to ease you back into the real world. The sixth mix in the series is a smooth and sexy, one by HDD resident Murlo – some might even say its a panty dropper. One thing’s for sure it’s better than Alkaseltzer!

Here are a few words from him:

When I’m hungover I tend to listen to a lot of r’n’b, anything with a good hook and good vocals (usually Usher). I couldn’t bring myself to do an all Usher mix so it’s turned out as Usher and friends. Also just because you’re hungover you’re still in bed, so I’ve kept it relatively panty dropping. Enjoy.

#HDD Hangover 5 : Why Delila

We’ve all been there flagging after a long night out, the pounding headache, the fear of natural light and the craving on any food to soak up last night’s hangover. We at HDD have a phrase for those suffering after a night out at Hipsters Dont Dance (1st saturday of every month) it’s called a #hddhangover. So as a thank you to our amazing crowd we have decided to create a mix series to ease you back into the real world.
The fifth mix in the series is by HDD resident Why Delila, it’s better than Alkaseltzer!

Here are a few words from her:

Like most people when I’m hungover, I need to be comforted. For me, dub and reggae are the most reassuring types of music. The first few tracks on this mix take me back to the parties my Mum used to have when I was a child, so it’s the ultimate in homely music for me. I also tried to avoid mixing as much as I could – mixing feels a bit too energetic for a hungover state! I really enjoyed putting together this mix, mainly because it gave me an excuse to repeatedly play Dadawah and King Tubby as ‘research’. Hope you’re as soothed by this as much as I am!

#HDD Hangover 4 : The Large

We have all been there flagging after a long night out, the pounding headache, the fear of natural light and the craving on any food to soak up last night’s hangover.

The third one is a mix by HDD resident The Large, it’s better than Alkaseltzer.

Here are a few words from her:

I didn’t really know where I was going when I started this mix, I just reached for what felt good, and clearly now I can see that’s Philly soul, J dilla, east coast rap, the most laid back diss tune ever & some chocolatey vocals. This mix is best enjoyed with nice bassy soundsystem, a spliff and someone to spoon.
