Hipsters Dont Dance On A Ragga Tip, May

OART_MAY_440

After the success of our debut event at the Lockside Lounge, Hipsters Dont Dance On A Ragga Tip is back for another night of World Carnival fun. This time we are joined by producer and HDD favourite Famous Eno. Fresh from his storming set on London’s important Just Jam, Famous Eno will be bringing us his take on Grime, Bashment and more.  Of course we will have our Residents Murlo, The Large, Illanja and Kazabon & Hootie Who on the decks bringing you the best in Hip Hop, Tropical and Dancehall. Don’t forget our motto is Fete Hard or Go Home! Get ready to wuk and wine by pumping our latest mix (below) through your speakers.

Visit our Facebook Event Page for more info. Email hipstersdontdance@gmail.com with ‘cheaplist’ as the subject to be added to the £3 list (this guarantees you £3 entry all night). List closes at midday on Friday 24th.

It’s that time again; we are back at The Libertine Pub in Borough this Saturday May 18th for the best house party in a pub in the whole of London. Kazabon & Hootie Who will be providing you with a soundtrack of party starters to get you in the mood for clubbing. Hits from Hip Hop, Dancehall and R’n’B will get your Saturday night kicked off correctly whether you are catching up with friends over pizza and drinks (or Eno’s famous wings) or getting ready for a night of raving and misbehaving! Check the facebook event page for more details.

You can also listen to a taster of what HDD House Party is like with this 2 hour recording of our set from our February session. Put it on at work and have a sly little dance!

HDD DJs at NICS 4 Launch Party, May 17th

NICS4_launch_440This Friday we are joining Jus Now and The Large for the No Ice Cream Sound launch party. It’s at the Moustache Bar in Dalston and kicks off from 9pm. Don’t miss out for the following reasons:

1) The zine is fantastic and you can get it at the launch before it’s sold online. Issue 4 is NY themed with interviews with Shaggy, Dre Skull and more (and a chart from us).
2) Jus Now were great when we saw them on Regents St this past Sunday. Get Involved!
3) Support a great piece of work by one of the hardest working people in the  scene. The amount of hard work that goes into this zine is untold and we really need people who love the genre like we do to support.

Visit the Shimmy Shimmy website for more information. See you there!

HDD DJs at Pon De Floor, Oxford May 16th

PonDeFloor_may_440

This Thursday May 16th, we are heading to Oxford to do a guest set at Pon De Floor, a club night at The Cellar run by our friends over at Sensible Dancehall.  It will be our first time djing in Oxford and we are looking forward to djing alongside Pon De Floor resident and Sensible Dancehall head honcho Molassie (who did no 7 in our Strictly Riddims series). Join us for some wukking and wining! More details on the Facebook Event Page

HDD x Commandments

This Saturday (The 27th) we are honoured to be playing Commandments at the Alibi with Major Notes and Unknown Soulja (Mosca is down under). We have always admired the night’s ability to book acts that they like and reflect their taste in diversity. In a time of somewhat predictable booking (no shots we understand the pressures out there) it’s good to see a night stand separately from the norm. It’s at the Alibi and runs from 9 – 3am (we are on round 11). Facebook Event is here.
