Fuse ODG X Azonto

We have been playing this tune at our events since we heard it a little while back, and are happy to see that Fuse ODG has finally dropped the video with a special verse from Donaeo and cameo from comedian Eddie Kadi. Its nice to see that Tiffany also features in the video, showing you her moves on the ‘Azonto Cam’ – what better way to learn the Ghanaian dance.
Catch us alongside Fuse ODG at Roundhouse Rising presents Kiss My Teeth this Thursday.

Hipsters Dont Dance May Session

Hipsters Dont Dance May Session 2012

On May 5th (part of the Second bank holiday of the year) Famous Eno joins us at our monthly residency at The Meter. This is the third time we are having Eno join us at HDD, every single time he has been amazing. He is about to release an EP on the incredible record label Mixpak featuring his old school flavoured single All Good FM. It’s everything we love here at HDD towers a bashy vocal, tropical vibes and a whole load of bass. Of course you will have Murlo and The Large as well as HDD DJ’s Kazabon and Hootie Who bringing you the best in Hip Hop, Dancehall and Tropical.
Please note that we are still upstairs at The C.A.M.P, the venue has changed name to Meter (Nearest Tube: Old Street).

HDD Top 5 x Ciara Collabs

This weeks Top 5 is all about this month’s HDD poster girl and seriously under-rated superstar Ciara. We play a lot of Ciara’s tunes at our monthly sessions and feel she shows her best side when collaborating with other artists, so in no particular order here are our favourites of the collabs she has worked on.

Ciara featuring Ludacris – Ride
This tune is so super smooth and Ciara oozes so much sex appeal in this video that MTV banned it in the US. We love it here at HDD HQ and think that the interaction between Ciara and Ludacris is always a winner.

So Shifty Presents #Unfuckwithable

Every week the excellent So Shifty guys will bring you a performance that they deem #unf*ckwithable. You can give them suggestions on twitter just using that hashtag but ultimately they will decide. This week’s edition is from Busy Signal and his lament on the toils of life The Days. You should also check out his new Lp which is out on Greensleeves, a classic slice of reggae music from one of the most versatile artists in the game.

HDD DJs at Roundhouse Rising Presents Kiss My Teeth May 3rd

Roundhouse Rising Presents Kiss My Teeth

We are honoured and extremely excited to be on the line up of the first event in the Roundhouse Rising presents series, Roundhouse Rising presents Kiss My Teeth. Following from the success of the sold out Roundhouse Rising festival earlier this year, the Roundhouse are giving young up and coming promoters and artists the opportunity to showcase different sounds through their monthly events.

The first one is curated by DJ and producer Dizzietron, who is also one of the founders of Manchester club night Kiss My Teeth which we had a blast djing at last November. Afro pop group Aj Holmes & The Hackney Empire, Kiss My Teeth founders Can You Felix and Dizzietron, and the man of the moment when it comes to Azonto Fuse ODG will be performing on the night with co founder of Manchester night BPM T Dot on hosting duties. As you can see Dizzietron has put together a serious line up for the event, here are a few words from her on what you can expect on the night.

From the favelas to the shanty towns, Lagos to London, Kingston to Calabar and Bogota to Baltimore are a selection of bands, musicians and DJs bringing you the best dance rhythms influenced by the African diaspora.

Tickets are a steal at only £5 available here . More info on the Facebook event page

Fabolous x Got That Work

This video cropped up on Worldstar last week and has wormed its way in our hearts over that time. 23 year old Jahlil Beats aka the guy that produced the theme tune to our podcast series #hddhouseparty (aka Meek Mill’s monster hit House Party) produced this ode to late night booty calls. The imagery is kinda funny and suits the whole vibe of the track, expect it to be a sleeper summer hit.
